Vacations: Mitsis Roda Beach Resort And Spa Hotel – SCAM REVIEW
Today Im going to speak about my holiday at the Mitsis Roda Beach hotel resort and spa. Me and my wife read many positive reviews about it and decided to go there on our holiday in August 2009.
When we arrived we were pleased to see that the hotel looked just as stunning as it does in the pictures which was a relief, from then on however Im afraid that it got worse. After we checked in we had to wait for a porter t take us t our room.
This would of been great if me and my wife were the only couple checking in but there was about 20 couples, with more arriving all the time and only one porter. When you also take into consideration the fact that there are over 400 rooms one porter is simply not enough for this job. We had no choice but to wait for the porter as the people at reception would not tell us where our room was.
The next thing to disappoint me was the features that we got with the room. When we booked we were under the impression that we were going to get a superior room that came with V.I.P treatment, this included: Wine and fruit on arrival and dressing gowns.
We went to our holiday rep and told her our concerns and she then told us that there are two kinds of rooms, superior and family. Basically as a couple we were always going to get a superior room, the same as every other room. This would be fine if it came with the V.I.P treatment but it didnt.
The rep then explained that V.I.P treatment was a totally separate service and is not included with the rooms. When we told her what we had read in the reviews she just said, Well I didnt write them. I explain why the reviews were saying this at the bottom. We spoke to other couples that were under the impression that they were going to get V.I.P treatment only to be disappointed.
The customer service was also a disappointment. Not only were the reception desk unhelpful at check there was also other members of staff who were rather rude. There is a service were you can hire a towel, me and my wife got there at 9 in the morning to get one but we were told they dont give them out until half past 10. Because we didnt have any towels we did something else for the day we didnt bother going back for the day. Evening meals are served at 7 so at 5 oclock we thought we would go for a quick swim for an hour so again we went to get a towel, this time we were told they dont give them out after 5. It wasnt even five minutes past, I wouldnt mind if the towels were in a different part of the hotel and they had been locked up for the day but all he had to do was turn around and pick one of the shelf, what harm would it of done to do that?
This brings me nicely onto the next thing that I did not like. If you got to the pool or the beach any later than 7 in the morning all of the sun beds would have towels over them. There was always a mad rush by people wanting to claim the sun beds as their own for the day and you either joined in the race or give up on having a sun bed. This is also unfair, if you want to reserve a sun bed you should have to pay for it not plonk a towel on it and call it your own.
So why did we read so many positive reviews saying we wouldnt encounter theses problems? Well lets think logically here, when booking a holiday online nobody knows what they are booking and seen as how no one wants to book somewhere thats going to be rubbish they look for reviews. This is perfect for hotel reps and internet marketers to write hundreds of bogus reviews and submit them all over the internet, then when unsuspecting holiday makers (me and you) read these reviews we think we are doing our due diligence in reading these reviews and that we will find out whether or not we have found a good hotel, when in actual fact we are reading something that is totally fake by either a hotel rep or an internet marketer that will get a commission if you click on his link to the hotel website and book the hotel. I can tell you for sure that when you read a review of the hotel if there is a link to the hotels website then it is 100% fake and every word of it should be ignored, after all if you were writing a review would you put a link back the hotels website? Even if there isnt a link to the hotels website there is still a good chance that it is fake so please be very careful.
